I’m Finding It Very Comfortable To Eat With My Partial Denture, It Feels Like Not Chewing Anything. What Other options Are There?
Q.
Hello Dr Hughes. I have just had a one tooth pallet inserted and I am finding very hard to eat. It feels as though I am not chewing anything, all I can feel is the plastic. I don’t no if this is normal and have they done it right. My gums have been bleeding a lot and just calmed down recently. What are the best things to eat for the first week? Is a pallet the best way or is there a better option? If so which? I find this way very uncomfortable. Thank you for your time.

Hello and thank you for your enquiry. You could consider a dental implant retained crown or bridges of which there are several types. You might need a little time to adjust to your pallet. If you still feel the same way after some time, you should go back to your dentist and discuss your options. I would need to see you in person to determine which treatment would be suitable. This website has information on dental implant retained crowns and bridges if that helps in the meantime. I hope this helps. Regards, Mark.
