Im 23 and still have two milk teeth on the lower jaw and my new teeth behind it are painful

Q. Hi Please help. I am 23 and still have two milk teeth on the lower jaw, the teeth that were supposed to replace the milk teeth have grown behind which can be painful on my tounge sometimes and you can see the teeth when i talk, could you advise on what would be the best option, the teeth are quite far back about 5mm i would say

A. The first treatment of choice is orthodontics – to move the teeth into the corect position after removal of the retained baby teeth.  Obviously this needs to be properly assessed before the baby teeth are removed
