Hi! I was wondering if you could just provide me with a small bit of advice? I have a very gummy smile and I think that gum contouring would be perfect for me. I have a problem though, i hate the dentist I feel physically sick when going to the dentist. I have hated it for years and this is the only thing that is stoping me from thinking about this option. Would it be possible for me to have a general anaesthetic I’m hospital for the surgery?? I’m only 15 and would it still be possible for me to have it or would I have to be over a certain age.Thank you for your help!

Hello, thank you for your question. I think it is probably wise that you wait until you are a little older before having any gum surgery but please go to see a cosmetic dentist with experience in such treatments as well as maybe an orhtodontist and periodontist (gum specialist) – the better practices will have recommended specialists or even have them ‘in house’ in some cases.
