I am having all my upper teeth removed and would like to know the best procedure for mini implants w/a denture. Also, how long between pulling the teeth and doing the implants? In addition, I would like to know the approx. cost. I am thinking of having my teeth removed w/conscious sedation. Is this a good idea? Help, I would like to get this done asap as my upper teeth are very loose.
thank you

have had a front tooth removed because of an abscess. The abscess rotted away the bone (it was there for years) and now my dentist canE28099t do an implant because there is not enough bone to fix to. Can you help? Can I have a bone graft? can i have a metal bracket fixed to the jaw that could then take the pin? I have all my upper front teeth crowned years ago, its now time to replace them so i would like to do this as well. Iwould then need to bleach or veneer the front bottom teeth to match the lighter colour so its quite a lot of work. I look forward to your reply.

I have an upper lateral, which has RCT and a post corwn. (35 years old) This now has an abcess and was wondering if an implant was possible? would I need to have the tooth removed and wear a denture until the gum had healed. Thank you for the advice.

Aimee Says :

A dental implant should be possible. Without seeing you it is difficult to comment on if the wearing of a denture would be required.

It is still possible but you will probably need the abscess treating first

At present I have a 4 tooth bridge (upper left, 2 molars/2pre-molars. The pre-molar anchor tooth has broken leaving the root in the gum. To date, I have had 3 different solutions suggested & if possible, I would like an independent view on them. They are: 1. To cut the existing bridge to a 2 tooth cantilever bridge & to implant in the first pre-molar position and make a new 2 tooth cantilevel bridge. 2. Cut the existing bridge to a one tooth molar crown, to use 2 implants (pre-molar/molar) and a 3 tooth bridge. 3. To remove existing crown. to make a single implant in the first pre-molar postion and create a new 4 tooth bridge. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks,

OK options 1 & 2 could be valid. With out examing your mouth/ seeing xrays etc… it is not possible to give you any further advice apart from to say linking implants to teeth is to be debrecated

I’m sorry to hear of your problems. I would ask for a referral to an implant dentist for a proper consultation to try to get you sorted out. If you’re dentist is unwilling look for someone locally on the web

i have a condition called oral erosive lichen planus it also affect most of the skin on my body! the saliva glands in my mouth often do not work and as such i have a very dry mouth and open sores which makes it very hard to eat anything , over the years i have had to have most of my teeth removed due to the dryness in my mouth and now only have 3 teeth at the top and 6 at the bottom ! i have lost a considerable amount of weight through not been able to eat properly i have tried dentures and i can’t bear them in my mouth as i have a bad gagging reflex and the hospital have done a patch test on me and have found that i am allergic to cobolt and nickel so that definitely rules out further dentures would i be eligible for dental implants on the n.h.s

how long does the operation take, what is the price and will it hurt. I have a pacemakerand am diabetic so would I be suitable for the procedure. Where would the procedure take place, I live in Lincolnshire. How long will my mouth look like a scrap yard, with a lot of metal. I have false teeth but can’t get on with them so I’ve decided to follow this course of action.

Its very difficult to give you specifics when I don’t know what “operation” you’re considering. The best thing to do would be to find a local implant dentist or ask your regular dentist to refer you to an implant dentist they use already

Hi, Two years ago i had my two baby teeth canines removed to allow the adult teeth to come down. However they have slowly grown down behind where the baby teeth would have been if they were still there., so now i have two gaps and two adult teeth behind the gaps. I would much rather get the adult teeth extracted and replaced with dental implants than have braces for a long time and cost around the same. Am i a suitable candidate for implants and would it be a fairly easy/normal process?

I’ve notices I get dry mouth mostly at night. I would wake up and my mouth feels like a cotton field (That’s they way I could explain it). I’ve also notices my tongue would get so sore from being dry. Not fun. I know my health is in perfect shape. I don’t have diabetes. I do know I can’t close my lips together. I have a sightly overbite, could this be the reason of dry mouth?

March 26th, 2012 at 08:47 PM
Winston Says :

If your lips do not come together you may be breathing through your mouth as you sleep. This may be causing your dry mouth issue. Dry mouth can also be associated with certain medications.

My 21 year old daughter has one tooth missing in her upper jaw. She has had corrective treatment by an orthodontist at a dental hospital for all her teeth and has worn a brace for three years. The orthodontist wants to fit a bridge to fill the gap but her own dentist says an implant would be much better. Does an implant last for ever or does it require the crown to be replaced every ten years or so at a cost of around £600 as we have been told by the orthodontist at the dental hospital?

I recently had A front dental bridge inserted with Pontic on eye tooth. It took dentist a long time making adjustments to fit. My question is that the back of Pontic has a big gap. However, the front of it touches gum. Could I run into problems with such a gap. I am so upset after spending soooooo much money.

Kelton Says :

You will not run into a problem due to the gap. You will have to be make sure you keep the area clean from any food debris.
