I would like my teath whitened but my teeth have been damaged

Q. I would like my teath whitened but when I was a teenager and had my braces removed there was some damage and the dentist put something on to my teath to cover the damage – I think it was white filling / amalgam???. I also have quite a lot of exposed dentine near my gums. I know I am not suitable for veneers (I teath clench etc). Is there any way I can have my teath whitened, can whaever is on my frount teath be removed so they can be whittened ?

A. Of course you would require an examination to give you a detailed treatment plan. But it is possible to have whitening carried out initially and then to have composite fillings replaced to match your whitened teeth.
