I want a full mouth reconstruction, why is it so expensive?

Q.
My teeth are all worn down. I am 59 years old and my dentist wants $30,000 to reconstruct my teeth. Can this be real or is he wanting me to put his kid through collage?
A.
Dear Enquirer,

Full mouth reconstructions are a very complex treatment to plan and execute. Such procedures can only be carried out by very skilled and experienced dentists who have taken specific training over many years.
Treatment planning is much more involved than general dentistry and has to take into consideration that we are trying to replace the volume of tooth tissue that has been lost, using materials that have to look like natural teeth and function exactly as normal teeth would function as you speak, eat and chew.

For such treatments, we often use state of the art equipment, such as digital x-rays, CT scans, lasers and so on to give patients the best treatment with long lasting results. We also use some of the best laboratories in the UK, to manufacture your bespoke restorations to give you the results you desire.

Treatments can take many hours/weeks/months to complete.
I hope this helps,
Sunita
