I require a bone graft for implants; what is the time scale and how soon are implants fixed

Q. Having been assured before having total upper extraction that a graft would not be required, am now told a bone graft is required for implants. What is the usual timescale and how soon are implents fixed? thanks

A. The bone graft is usually left in place for 4-6 months. The implants are then usually left for 3-5 months before loading with a temporary bridge. They will then be completed with the final teeth over a 2-3 month period

hope this helps
