I need braces but they are expensive, is a smile makeover quicker?

hello, i am 15 years old and i live in california(u.s). i am in desperate need of braces, however they are expensive($6,500, with insurance) and my orthodontist said i would have them on for 2 years. my teeth are very crowded, and i have a crossbite/underbite.i was wondering if i could get a smile make over instead because thats faster. my questions are is it possible for me to get a smile makeover that will fix my problems for $6,500 and under? also i heard that if i went down to mexico, which isnt that far from me, it would be cheaper and its still safe because they have certified orthodontists there. also could my insurance cover an underbite surgery? please give me your honest opinio. i hate not smiling with my teeth and im constantly self conscious. thank you 🙂

In general a smile makeover is more expensive than a set of braces, in the UK. I presume this is the same in the States. Your best bet is to see a dentist who is experienced in smile makeovers to assess you and see whether you are suitable for treatment and what the fees are.
I cannot comment on Mexico as the rules for insurance are quite different to here in the UK.
I wish you all the best in your search and do hope you seek out treatment as there is no need to put up with a smile you’re not proud of in this day and age.
