I have suffered with TMD for several years, jaw pain, neck pain etc. I have tried various treatments but have now finally seen a orthodontist who specialises in TMJ. I am having a device made to help ,move my jaw into position but been advised that this will only be a short term solution and I will need my bite fixing, I have a crossbite, narrow upper and lower jaw amongst other problems. this involves another device to stretch my upper and lower jaw to make room for my teeth which are overcrowded particularly on the bottom. The cost will be around £9,000 which is worrying me. Can I get my bite improved without going to such expense. The cause of my jaw problem is my poor bite which has also caused me to clench my teeth. At the moment I am so desperate to sort my TMD out I am happy to pay the initial cost for the jaw device but the rest seems excessive. I have been told I will also require an MRI scan which will I will have to pay for.

How can my crossbite be improved without costing so much?
Thursday, June 28th, 2012My straight teeth are now crossed over due to gum disease, what can I do?
Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011 Hello Dr Bohara, My teeth which were once straight have moved, the front ones now crossover and their is a gap further back on either ide which is visible when I smile and where the teeth have moved forward and my dentist tells me that this is because I have bone loss and also an element of gum disease. It is difficult to clean my teeth properly now, also difficuilt to eat as I am not used to my teeth as they are.,biting an apple is impossible and I often bite my lip.
Can anything be done to correct this and make me confident to smile again? I am 59 years of age.
How can I correct a cross bite where my lower jaw is stronger than my upper jaw?
Tuesday, March 15th, 2011 I have a cross bite and my lower jaw is stronge than my top. Its not very prominent but to me my teeth look uneven.I saw one dentist who said i coud have invisalin lite to treat the front area or full set to widen out my smile. i saw a 2nd dentist and they said full set only . Then finally I saw a third who said invisalign is not for me as will nned brace. He said that whilst my teeth will be straight they may not sit comfirtably so must cosider actual bracr instead. I am so confused. The first dentist who advised invisalign lite or full smile is a Platinum dentist and comes recommended. What should I do ?

I need braces but they are expensive, is a smile makeover quicker?
Tuesday, February 1st, 2011hello, i am 15 years old and i live in california(u.s). i am in desperate need of braces, however they are expensive($6,500, with insurance) and my orthodontist said i would have them on for 2 years. my teeth are very crowded, and i have a crossbite/underbite.i was wondering if i could get a smile make over instead because thats faster. my questions are is it possible for me to get a smile makeover that will fix my problems for $6,500 and under? also i heard that if i went down to mexico, which isnt that far from me, it would be cheaper and its still safe because they have certified orthodontists there. also could my insurance cover an underbite surgery? please give me your honest opinio. i hate not smiling with my teeth and im constantly self conscious. thank you 🙂

I would like my teeth to appear straight, would dental veneers help this?
Monday, March 29th, 2010Hi, I have considerable toothware to several of my teeth, the enamal has worn away and i also have a crowding problem with my bottom teeth, when i enquired about getting my teeth straightened i was told i had a bad crossbite and would need sugery on my jaw as simply using a brace would not move them sufficently, i am not interested in my bite i just want my teeth to appear straight, would veneers be the answer for me and is there a way of overcoming my crowded bottom teeth without braces, many thanks.,
Will braces damage caps already in place?
Thursday, March 4th, 2010I am 45. I sucked my thumb until I was 26! I also had a slight left side cross bite. I wore an upper plate brace when I was 11 but wasn’t given anything to keep the teeth in place, so over time they went back to how they were. When I was 30 I had my front teeth capped, as you could not see any of my upper teeth (and I mean any) when I smiled. My mouth was also sucken as you can image and I had deep lines. They brought two teeth over the bottom set of teeth to rectify the cross bite and lengthed the teeth so you could see them. I have a very long lip also so you cannot see my gums. Although the caps have improved my smile and support to my mouth area vastly, my upper set of teeth is still very narrow and the uncapped teeth go inwards, not giving me much support. I am considering braces, however I am frightened the caps which I can’t afford to replace will be damaged? Please note that I am told my teeth are very healthy, it is just that the upper set are displaced. I cannot tell you how trumatic my showing no teeth, while I was growing up has been for me, with people not liking me until they got to know me etc. Even the cutting down of my otherwise healthy teeth and having caps has been a huge truma for me, I’ve never really felt comfortable with the caps. Also can you recommend a good cosmetic/orthadentist. In central or west London. Thank you.,
