I’m happy with my white fillings, what do you suggest?

Q. I am an NHS patient, I have white fillings in my two front teeth at the top, due to the enamil being ripped off when my fixed braces were removed as a kid, since then I have been brushing my teeth away, I am very unhappy with the feel ( they are lumpy)and colour (darker than my real teeth) of my teeth i have spoken to my dentist about it but he dismisses me and says I will have to pay private if I want it fixing – I wore braces for three years in my teens, Is this true that I will have to pay private or suffer his patch up?,
A. You will probably need the treatment provided privately as it is cosmetic treatment and cannot be covered by the NHS in most cases.
