I just removed my teeth do i need to have a implant or can i just leave the gap
Q. Dear Dr Moore, I had root canal treatment about six months ago but for whatever reason I still had the abcess. My dentist referred me to a root canal specialist whom I seen today but he ended up removing the tooth. He has suggested an implant, my question is do I need to have an implant or can i just leave the gap. It is not visible from a smile point of view. thanks
A. Filling the space will prevent drift of the adjacent and opposing tooth, as well as reducing stress on the other teeth. generally it is always best to fill a gap once a tooth is removed
