I have two crowns at the front I would like to replace them

Q. I have two crowns at the front, I would like to repalce them with new crowns, as there is a crack in one of them. Can you please tell me if the procedure is simple a I do not want my bottom teeth to be effected as I genarally have healthy teeth. Also is it simple to take the crowns out in order to put the new ones in? and can you please tell me the cost and in future how best to look after them. I have a fear that crowns can suddenly come off, please tell me is this the case! Thank you very much for your help.

A. Having crowns replaced is a simple procedure depending on what is found underneath the existing crowns. The existing crowns are simplt drilled off and if all underneath is healthy, after a quick clean up impressions are taken and you will leave with temporary crowns while you perminant ones are being ceated by the ceramist. You will return in 2 weeks to have these fitted.
No dentist can predict what is found underneath your crowns, if any decay is found you will be informed and the necessary treatment will be carried out to rectify this.
Crowns should not come off.
Crowns should be maintained the same way your teeth should be- brushing and flossing twice per day and regular hygiene visits.
