i have mercury filling and i would like to remove them is it possible?

Q. Hello, I have mercury fillings and would like to remove them, I was told that unless they are waring down and getting old I should not remove them, because the mercury released while removing the fillings is a much highter then the mercury being released from chewing. Is this true?

A. Good dentists remove metal fillings under rubber dam a coating that protects you from any potential mercury vapours.  You need to find a dentist who uses rubber dam and you will be fine.
