Q. Good afternoon I was after some advice.. I have gum disease and I am very paranoid and so so worried about loosing my teeth. I have given up smoking for 6 weeks and do not intend in taking up smoking ever again. I have been looking into teeth implants incase I do loose my teeth as the thought of fauls teeth terrifies me. I am only 27 and do no want dentures in the sense where I can take them in and out. I have been looking in the price of teeth implants and if I was to loose all my teeth I just could not afford £800 for each tooth.. I was wondering if you could help with my options as Im so so worried everyday I think about this and im so stresses with the thought of loosing my teeth. Hope you can help Kind Regards A worried

A. The very first step is to have a thorough routine exam and a hygienist visit. I would strongly recommend stabilising your gums and improving your oral health. the hygienist can help to combat the gum disease and prevent your teeth from falling out. I congratulate you on stopping smoking- as this is one of the biggest contributors to gum disease. At only 27, there is definatly hope yet!
