I have been told that I will need root canal treatment under crown. Is this the best option?

Q. I had a crown fitted some four years ago recently have been told that i need rout canal treatment under it and that they will drill through crown to remove root is this mthe best option,
A. It is the best option if the crown can not be removed if this does not work you will need a new crown.
