I have air pockets around my roots and teeth need replacing, can you help?

Q.
Hello,
I am 42 yrs old & have the worst teeth in the world !! !I live in Leeds West Yorkshire
I worked in horse racing when I was younger & had many falls, kicks to the face & horses heads smashing into mine..a number of occasions I know my teeth suffered terribly, I believe the front teeth top & bottom on many occasions were shunted & may have over time made air pockets round the roots. But I have to say that is no excuse. I have since the age of 9/10 yrs had a phobia of brushing !! Its hard to explain, I have tried hypnotherapy but I just can not brush, floss & gargle …. My mouth hygiene is none existant !! I tried for months seeing a hygienist weekly, but I came to the point where I no longer could afford the regular treatment. Plus it was a losing battle…I have 10-12mmm airpockets & all my teeth are very loose I have even lost one now on the bottom front row. I did have lovely teeth & smile when I was younger, my mouth was over crowded & had 4 second teeth removed & 10 baby teeth..the dentist Im afraid was known for his butchery & from that treatment me & teeth …well not a happy ending !! I only wish now I had looked after them so much better ! I have gaps now, receding gums they are just awful & I never smile, I hate my picture being taken & I have no confidence talking to people, especially strangers !! They are not painful, I have a little sensitivity but not to affect me eating or drinking hot or cold foods, but at the dentist blowing cold air or water then it gets me. But saying that I no longer go to the dentist now Im too embarrased at the state of my mouth, plus my phobia also includes dentist’s…Sorry, Please dont take that personal.
Now at the age of 42 yrs its come as the hardest ever decision to make, I must get my teeth sorted,, have a proper dentistry routine looking after….???Well….. What do you think I could do ??
Me & my husband have decided a bank loan will be taken …will I have to have all my teeth removed ? Maybe a chance of implants..?? Prob not, wont have any bone ?? Iam terrified I wont lie.
Can you please help
Kindest Regards
A.
You poor thing….don’t worry, you can’t turn back the clock and there’s no point in punishing yourself. Implants are an excellent solution for missing/loose teeth and they provide a fixed restoration, so no loose dentures.
At Sparkle Dental we offer a new solution to patients who have a failing dentition called Same Day Teeth
http://www.sparkledental.co.uk/all_on_4.php
If you are interested in this procedure do book an appointment with me and I will be very gentle with you…there’s nothing to worry about. Once I’ve had a look, I can advise the best way forward. Same Day Teeth start at £16995 per arch. There may be other more suitable options for you once you’ve been assessed.
My practice number is 0208 567 4344
I hope this helps,

I suffer from dental phobia. I am 39 years old and have not had visited a dentist in nearly30 years. I believe I will need virtually all my teeth extracted and havedentures/implants. Would I need this done under GA at a hospital? If this could be done under sedation, would I be aware of what was happening to me?Could you give me any indication of the cost involved and what the timescale would be? I want to reclaim back my life, be able to smile again and overcome my phobia of the dentist. Please can you help?

I’m a very, very nervous patient who hasn’t been to the dentist for over10 years, but really want to get over my phobia as I’ve just lost a largefilling and my back teeth are in a horrible state! Having looked at your site, I think you might be the people to help, so I’d be interested in making an initial appointment to speak to someone who’ll hopefully be understanding. Thanks!

Hi there, I have been looking for a dental surgery that deals with phobiasand cosmetic dentistry! I haven’t been to the dentist for over 10 years due to my phobia and I have at least one broken tooth and would be keen for sedation in order to get this fixed. However, I am also really keen to get my teeth straightened, it is only the two teeth either side of my front teeth that I have a problem with. Would that be something that I could get done? Thanks

When i was younger i had a full time brace. This had to be removed on the basis my front teeth were very weak as i have short gums, as a child i knocked my front teeth out and as a result damaged my gums. I was told i would need implants (possibly) in 1 year this was 5 years ago and my teeth seem tobe fine, however as i didnt have the brace in as long as required the leftside of my smile is still slightly crookered. One tooth is to the side andone tooth is slightly longer than the rest. Having looked on goodgle i believe the teeth to be the lateral incisor 2 (slightly crookered) and canine 3(too long). I was hoping to get the canine 3 filed down to match the restas it does distort my smile and hoping to get a veneer to cover the crookered tooth or it could work with filing the other tooth down. If this isnt possible or too expensive i would be happy with getting the canine 3 filed down to look more in length with the rest. Please can you advise? Regards
