I have a gap in my upper row of teeth and I need to have a fractured tooth removed NHS does not provide bridge

Q. I have a gap in my upper row of teeth and it is now looking likely that I will have to have another tooth removed as it its fractured making the gap even wider. I have always been self concious about this gap as you can see it when I smile and now I am really concerned. I would like to have a bridge fitted but my dentist has informed me that bridges are not covered under the NHS and yet I have found numerous references to the contrary

A. Interpretation of regulations is a problem, the NHS covers the treatment the dentist believes solves the dental need in the best way. If your other teeth are not stable or you have other gaps most NHS dentists would provide a denture. If your other teeth are perfect and you only have one gap then some would provide a brdge on the NHS.
