i had brace as a child the dentist told the teeth wouldnt go any further back is it true?

Q. I have a couple of teeth that are slightly crooked in the front top. I wore a brace as a child which straightened them slightly, but my dentist at the time said they wouldn’t go any further back. Is this true?

A. Teeth can always be moved provided there is space for them to move into. It might be that you need a different type of brace or space creation using a technique known as stripping. This creates small spaces between the teeth to allow the teeth to straighten more easily.

my son has braces but the 2 front teeth are slightly off from the center line of his mouth (lips). He is missing one of his lateral permanent teeth and the other side is just a peg. the peg space is larger than the other side (in which I wanted to eventually put in an implant instead of a bridge). My ortho is not sure if he move this tooth any more (will try). Suggestions?
