I am torn between inman aligner and invisalign

Q. I am currently looking into which treatment would be best for me. My top two front teeth are slightly protruded and have a gap. The rest of my teeth are not horrendous but could do with straightening out here and there. I am torn between the invisalign treatment and the inman aligner. I found this site useful in the pro’s and con’s to both of these solutions but wondered if you can tell me if the treatment will be permanent? For example, are my teeth likely to move back after time, and if so to what extent? Also the gap between my front teeth has allowed for some gum to grow beneath the two teeth. Should I get this removed? I am also on a budget, so please tell me how much this would cost too. Thank you.

A.

I do not carry out either of these treatment so I am uncertain on costs. I am sure the treatment is permanent but you will have to enquire what the after care of both of these are. Ie will you need to wear a retainer to keep the teeth aligned permanently, at night time or not at all?

I recommend that you book in with a dentist who offers both of these treatments to assess your suitability to each. Not everybody is a suitable candidate for these types of brace so it is well worth having a consultation whilst doing your own private research.

Kind regards

Dear Sir/Madam, I have 2 questions – For the Inman aligners do you need aftercare? e.g. a retainer? – and if so is this permanent? For the invisalign will you need aftercare? Again like a retainer? I am aware that every case is different and was just asking whether there was a standard rule for these instances

Hi, I just moved to London from Canada and on my second day here, my InmanAligner broke. I’m a student and don’t have the money to get a new InmanAligner made so I was wondering whether you would be able to bond a permanent retainer to my teeth to prevent any further movement. I have been usingthe aligner for over 8 months so my teeth are pretty much perfect. Could you please let me know if you can bond a permanent retainer to my top teeth and, if so, approximately how much it would cost? Thank you

Hi I had braces years ago and as much as my teeth aren’t bad now I feel they have moved slightly and there is jus a slight very small gap between thetooth next to my big tooth and feel my big teeth have moved forward very slightly. I don’t know if a retainer would just fix this instead of full braces. Could you let me know prices for retainers so can get ruff idea Thanks

I am considering having an assessment for cosmetic teeth realignment. I have read about the Invisalign and Clearstep products. Please would you give me a guide cost for upper and lower bridges and do you offer evening appointments please? Thank you Yours sincerely

hi I have just received my invisalign aligners and am trying to wear them as often as possible to get the very best results. I just wondered is is necessary to take them off when i eat or am I able to leve them in? Would there generally be any problems with wearing invisalign and eating? thanks

Carlie Says :

Yes, you should always remove your aligners to eat anything to prevent cracking the retainers, food getting caught under the aligners causing teeth or gum problems and to stop them staining. Within a few days of the first aligner to remove the aligners should be relatively straight forward and hassle free. Good luck

I have had invisalign in the past and they had to glue these buttons on my teeth which i didnt like the look of. anyway unfortunately I have not been wearing my retainers and my teeth have started to move again and I think that inman aligner will be better. Does inman aligner need buttons glueing to my teeth like invisalign?

Hello Sometimes yes, but often not, especially if the crowding is mild- and when they are used, they are smaller and should not be there as long. Hope this helps

I went to a cosmetic dentist and told him I would like to get my front 2 teeth pushed back, and he recommended the Inman Aligner. However I have been doing reading up and it seems to me as though it pushes teeth forward rather than back..I don’t want any of my teeth pushed forward. Will they be pulled forward? Also, is it possible for the Inman to push back just the front 2 teeth and leave the rest alone? Thanks

Hi I have a pretty big overbite and people have been telling me about invisalign and inman aligners, what are the differences, pros and cons of each brace and which would you recommend for an overbite? cheers

August 26th, 2011 at 08:47 PM
Megan Says :

Hello
It depends on the exact cause of your problems Inman aligners can treat minor problems, you’re overbite might not be able to be completly cured and this depends on your jaw positions. Sometimes surgery is the only option to cure a severe overbite. I would need to see you to give you the best options.
Hope that helps

i have had my brace for about a month but i am finding them really awkward to wear. I keep on taking them off and i know that isn’t going to be good for my teeth, but i just don’t feel comfortable with them in my mouth. Do you think i can have them adjusted or should i just try and stick it out until they loosen up a bit? Im guessing i have made my treatment longer now, but do you think i can just come back into treatment and have everything back to straightening like before? thank you for your time

Daryl Says :

You need to give it a chance by wearing it at least 16 hours a day for 3 or 4 days, you will find if you do you will acclimate.

Is it likely that I can have my teeth straightened with invisalign even if I have crowns? I have two crowns near the front of my teeth, which were put into place after root canal treatment, but i still really hate the straightness of my smile. Am I able to have those teeth straightened with invisalign or any other brace for that matter? thank you for your time

Hi is there anyway I can switch treatment half way through? I’m going ahead with invisalign at the moment but I’m not happy with the results so far plus I feel I am always in pain with them. The orthodontist keeps telling me that the pain will subside but it simply isn’t. I don’t know what to do and I feel the aligners are out of my mouth more than they are in because of the pain! What do you think I should do?

You can change treatment but obviously at a cost. Speak to you Orthodontist and explain your situation, they should then be able to help. Good luck
