I am in constant pain because of my ruccuring abcesses, please help!
Q. I have to have my lower molar out as it has collapsed and I keep getting recurrent abcesses, however I have a bridge connected from the molar to the middle lower front tooth! If I have the molar removed, I will lose my bridge and will end up with half a mouthful of teeth! I am currently in constant pain and am living on antibiotics and painkillers as I cannot live with half a mouthful of teeth! My dentist will not give me a full denture, but says I cannot have half a lower denture! Please advise as I am in constant pain!,
A. In these situations the first step is to remove the causes of pain either by root canal treatment or extraction. Following this a partial denture can be made. After this the next option is crowns veneers and / or implants.
