I am 17 and want braces on the NHS, how do I go about doing this?

Q.
Dear dr, i really want to put braces in my teeth i am 17 years old girl probably my teeth is not perfect one , but i want nhs could you please tell the cost about it thanks a lot i would be more thankful .
A.
Dear Enquirer,
You will need to have an assessment with an NHS dentist to see whethr you are suitable for braces. Unless your teeth are very crooked, the NHS will not provide braces and you will have to pay privately for the treatment.

Dear doctor, I am a 17yr old girl with quite substantial crooked front teeth that twist towards eachother. For the past year I have been suffering from tmj I believe because my bite isn’t correct, my jaw aches quite a lot when I close my mouth and I experience sensitive tingles through my head, now I can’t open my mouth suddenly and have to slightly slide my jaw into place to open my mouth fully, as you can imagine this is causing me great discomfort and when I close my mouth my tongue touches my top teeth. A dentist has suggested that I get braces but hasn’t told me about my situation and whether it would be on nhs. I would prefer inman aligners for a quicker result as only my two front teeth are crooked but this throws my whole jaw out of balance. Please what is your diagnosis and how would I come about getting inman aligners?

Dear Doctor, I am also a 17 year old girl. However I have received braces before when I was around 14 years old. I had them for just over 7 months, and I had an under bite of 7mm and two overlapping front teeth. However it was more for my painful under bite, when I woke up I’d experience aching in my jaw and my smile was crooked. I wore my retainers from the age of 14 to 16, but then I miss placed them and i’ve since moved away so was no longer in touch with my dentist to try and purchase some new retainers. In conclusions my teeth have now moved back to where they first started out at, and my jaw is back to the way it was as well. Would I be able to get them re-done on the NHS? If not How much would it cost for my front teeth to be aligned and, a fitted brace to bring my jaw back into line.
Kind regards.

Braces aren’t available on the nhs do you’ll have to pay. There are cheaper braces so maybe shop around if £3000 is too much
