How much would it cost me for a dental bridge replacing 2 missing teeth?

I have just had a tooth taken out yesteday and unfortuneatley the tooth next to it I lost many years ago how much will it cost me approx to have a bridge built around the two missing teeth. my current dentist is saying approx £2800 which includes a temp bridge. this sounds very exp is this about right,
A. It may also be worth investigating dental implants, the initial cost is a bit more but the lifetime cost should be much lower. A denture or a cheaper bridge design might be also be options.
