How much does it cost to cap a tooth?

Q. Hello im due to have my tooth taken out witch id rather have it capped but how much would it cost to cap a tooth its the front and to the left at the top

A. It depends on what is wrong with the tooth. If it needs root treatment and a post before crowning the cost may double. anything from 350 to 1000. you need to know what the chance of success is if you do the work. Rob

Hell-o i have had my front left tooth caped at the age of 12. I was struck by a automobile and i flew against the wind sheild were it chipped my tooth almost off. At the time my dentist put something like a post before he caped it. Since the age of 12 i have had it come off only two times in 30 years. Well just the other day i was eating and when i was done felt something missing it was my cap and i must of swallowed it. Now i am with out a front tooth and a peg like object which is very ulgy. I am so embaressed to even talk to any one and need it re-caped. How does that work and how much will it cost me, i do not have insurance but i am willing to pay cash. PLEASE get back to me about the cost and if the proceedure can be done. DESPERATE FOR HELP ! Thank you, Deborah Down i am 58 years old.
