How long would it take to get denture if teeth were removed?

Q. I, due to needle phobia have not been to dentist for 46years.Mytop 6 front teeth seem to be in good condition, but the rest owing to gum disease are so bad and are very loose. How long would I be without dentures if most were removed?,
A. Thanks for your questions, it may be possible for the dentist to have an immediate denture made for you. This can be done by taking an impression, prior to the extraction of your teeth, which would be used by the laboratory to create a denture which would have teeth in place of the teeth you will then have extracted. This denture will then be fitted following your extraction. However due to the changes which can occur following an extraction, you may need to have this denture replaced down the line. I hope this helps.Kind RegardsDr Kailesh Solanki
