How long would it take my teeth to grow down after having my white fillings

Q. Hi Julian, I have a couple of points that I need some help on. 1) One of my bottom inscisors has grown inwards and has little room. My dentist has recommended removing it – however I am concerned about the symmetry in my lower mouth and fear losing a biting tooth. What are you views on this? 2) I have ground my teeth down over a number of years – about 3-4mm according to my dentist. He has recommended building them up with white filling and then letting my back teeth grow down over time? I’m a little concerned about the strength of this method and how long it would take for my teeth to grow down following this. I am a 37 male if this helps. Any thoughts are much appreciated. Rgds

A. Answering your points in order Lower incisors look very similar and 3 lower incisors rather than the usual four look fine if the teeth are well aligned. This is using the Dhal principle and is well researched – sounds like your dentist really knows what they are talking about!  The time varies but .5 mm a month would be reasonable to expect
