How Can I Rid Myself Of The Nasty Pain Surrounding My Left Canine Gum Line?

Q.
Hello Dr Moore,
The gum surrounding my left canine at the bottom of my mouth is very, very sensitive as well as the bottom of the tooth.
If I touch it, it sends a nasty pain, and feeling. It has been like this for a few months now.
It has now started to affect the teeth either side of it also.
What could I do to rid myself of this pain?
Is there any surgery or dentistry I could have or could it prevented by buying any supplements etc.
Many thanks, I look forward to hearing your advice.
A.
Thank you for getting in touch. I would advise you to brush Corsodyl mouthwash into the area then consult a dentist to see what the problem is, you may have a issue with the health of the gums. It could be gum disease, and could require root canal treatment. It’s best to get this checked out as soon as possible to prevent the problem getting out of hand. I hope this helps you understand and clarifies your situation. Best wishes, Dr Andrew Moore.
