Have you heard of dentist leaving old silver filling in a tooth and covering it up with white filling?

Q. Have you ever heard of a dentist leaving old silver filling in a tooth and covering it up with white filling?

A.

A composite filling (if that is what it is) should not be placed onto a silver filling- as it cannot bond to it. You need to go back to wherever you had it done and stress your concerns and enquire about what has been done and the reasons behind it. I’m sure you’ll get some answers. If not, You are always entitled to a second opinion from elsewhere. Hope this has helped you. thanks for your enquiry.
