Do you have to pay for dental implants if you are under a certain age?

Q. hello there erm.. im 17 years old and i really really need to implant 4 teeths and i was just wondering if i need to pay for it? do u have to pay for dental implants if your underage?,
A. Dental implants are usually only offered on the NHS if: 1. you have a congenital defect-n eg hypodontia (naturally missing teeth- usually 6 or more), cleft lip and palate 2. Tooth loss through trauma- ie RTA’s (road traffic accidents)and surgery for head and neck cancer. (ususlly within 2 years of the trauma) 3. Continuing problems with well-made and fitting complete dentures If function is not affected, then implants in your case will need to be paid for as this will be deemed as cosmetic purposes. Hope this has helped.
