Do I have to pay for braces at the age of 17?

Q. Hello, I am a student in full time education and im 17 now. Do I have to pay for braces to my teeth? Many told me that its free at my age and some told me that i have to pay. And im really confused would you please tell me information about that? Thanks.
A. if treatment is going to progress through till when you are 18 it is likely you will not be accepted for treatment. if it is a really severe need you may be accepted but for mild treatment definately not

Hello my name is Claire, and i am just writing in to ask if i would have to pay for my braces at the age of 17?.

My front teeth have grown to the side and i feel i need braces becasue i dont like to smile as i feel unconfortable about my teeth.

My dentist has told me that i would have to pay for my braces at 17 because my teeth are not that bad and others have told me i don’t!!

Also i have to have fillings, and last time i was at dentist they gave me white paste filling which were free, but my dentist is now telling me if i want white fillings i have to pay is this correct if so why as i am only 17?

Hiya, my situation is the same as claire. I am very uncomfortable with my teeth and my dentist said that i have to pay. Can’t NHS do this for free as i am not 18 yet?
