Dentist has recommended trimming veneers but is this right?

Q. Last week my 22 year old daughter completed her veneer fitting of her upper teeth hoping to give her a perfect smile and improve her confidence, she was not given a chance to give her approval before cementing. The veneers appear as too wide for her mouth and much larger than the original teeth, reminding us of someone with buck teeth after bracing. We have spoken to our dentist and the technician they are going to ‘trim’ the veneers and give us two weeks to get used to them if not satisfied they will remove and start again, your advise will be much appreciated.,
A. This sounds like a good option – adjusting the veneers first of all.  Hopefully this will greatly improve the end result.
