Dead nerve has turned my tooth grey; can you help?

Q.
Hi,

I recently had an abcess and had to undergo root canal treatment, as well as some treatment on my front tooth where the abcess started from.

However the nerve had to be ‘killed’ and now my front tooth has grey areas where my gum is.
Obviously I would like the tooth to be as white as the other one but as it is a ‘dead’ tooth, is this possible without visiting a dentist?

I would like to be recommended some treatment to remove the grey area, hopefully you can advise.

Thanks.

If you are trying to make a tooth that has had root canal treatment look as close in colour to the tooth next to it , not only would you need to seek help from a dentist, I would advise that you speak to a very experienced cosmetic dentist who has lots of experience fixing this problem. This is extremely difficult to treat, to produce a natural result of a very high standard. It usually requires internal and external bleaching of the tooth and either a veneer or crown to mask the remaining discolouration – often the tooth next to it needs the veneer or crown as well so that they match, especially if it is an upper front tooth

Seek help from a cosmetic dentist with experience

Best regards
