Could you tell me if crowns dentist placed are okay?
Q. hi Dr. Caplan. i had my braces removed and my dentist placed crowns on my 2 front tooth. he injected anesthesia before he “trimmed†my teeth. after 2 days, i felt that my gums were swollen and now it looks like it has abscess and it is quite painful. i am worried, did my dentist missed anything? do my 2 front teeth need to be removed? if so, what are the options in replacing my 2 front teeth? thank you so much,
A. Sometimes the nerves of teeth are not 100% healthy and having teeth crowned can tipped the tooth over the edge into an abscess. You should return to your dentist who may have to treat the nerves of your teeth – it is unlikely that you will loose your teeth. Hope this helps
