Could I have ceramic braces placed on my top teeth and metal braces attched to my bottom teeth?
Q. Dear Dr, I’d like to wear ceramic braces, but my dentist say that because when I bite my bottom teeth go behind my top ones, they could damage my top teeth. My question is: should i wear metal braces at the bottom and ceramic at the top? Thank you,
A. Dear Enquirer, This sounds correct. You will benefit from the more aesthetically pleasing upper ceramic braces and the metal lower braces will be hidden mostly by your lower lip ensuring that you will be able to have straighter teeth using a safe method. Regards, Sunita
