Could dental bridge damage or rot other teeth in my mouth?

Q.
Hi,i had to have a tooth extraction after root canal treatment as i had a hairline crack in my root.I’m considering a dental bridge but have been advised that it can damage or rot the other teeth that it attaches to..is this correct? Also would it start to pull the teeth that it attaches to inwards? Help! I’m wary and nervous now, dont wont to harm any other teeth…also do i have to take bridge out to ensure adequate brushing and cleaning or does the bridge stat in place whilst brushing?
A.
With a dental bridge the adjasent teeth do have to be prepared to take the crown/bridge some bridges need more preparation than others. There are varying amounts of preparation depending on the type, so I would suggest speaking to your dentist to ascertain which type you are having. The bridge would not be removable, although you should take extra care when brushing but your dentist should go through brushing techniques with you.
