I have in the past been told I brush my teeth too hard which makes the gums receed. Today I have had several filled in and they look awful. My teeth are yellow in colour and the fillings are white, stick out, and I just want to cry. Was this because I am an NHS patient? I have asked before at my dentist about tooth whitening and was told to buy a pack from boots, which didn’t seem to have much effect as my two front teeth were capped 24 years ago when I broke them? Help

Is 0.01% hydrogen peroxide will work for whitened teeth

Hi im interested in getting my teeth whitened, however how is this allowed as i read an article that says th Eu only allows 0.01% hydrogen peroxide. Surely this wouldnt work. MY dentist says he can do it but im now sceptical as it sounds illegal and dangerous. Can you help, thanks

Hi Dr. Glaister A question about teeth whitening – I was given tetracycline as a child when my permanent dentition was developing, and my teeth are now rather stained. Given that the staining appears to be within the tooth – rather than upon the surface of the enamel – is there any whitening procedure that I could have that would be effective? Many thanks
