I have receeding gums, can anything be done to correct this?

Saturday, October 10th, 2009
Q.
I now have the “Old-fashioned ectremely expensive complete top veneers – the type that they had to grind down all of my teeth. This was recommended because I had gum disease which was supposedly cured after surgery. Now, I have receeding gums – just one tooth at the top that shows my own tooth and the space between! It looks awful! Can anything be done to correct this?

Hello. I have worn false teeth for 35yrs. My bottom gum has shrunk so there is hardly any ridge for my dentures to sit on and I now look as if I don’t have bottom dentures in! Can anything be done to remedy this?

Would apisectomy lead to any possible complications advice

Thursday, October 8th, 2009
Q.
I have had an infection for the last 5 months above a tooth. My dentist says i require an apisectomy. Are there any possible complications that I should be aware of. Also I have had chronic gum swelling, in another area, and wondered if herpes zoster could be a possibility as I sometimes get this on my lip. Many thanks

Ive a deep and wide gum recession is it possible for me to get implants

Thursday, October 8th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr Moore I have been told that I have Miller’s class 4 gum recession on two front teeth and consequently cannot have a gum graft to achieve any root coverage. Is this true? Secondly: With such deep and wide recession would the eventual need for implants be jeopardised i.e. with such a level of recession would it be a problem to fit implants if I lost the teeth in question? Many thanks.

My teeth filling hurts when i chew gums is it normal?

Tuesday, October 6th, 2009
Q.
Hi. I had SEVERAL fillings done about 1.5 months ago, and on occasion, those teeth will hurt, especially when I chew gum. It seems that the sensitivity to hot and cold has diminished considerably since I had the fillings done, but most times when I chew gum, those teeth hurt. The fillings are white, not silver. Is this normal?
