Tuesday, November 17th, 2009
Q.
Dear Dr. Moore, I have four crowns (in the front in the top rig)that are now showing a black line and so need replacing with Porcelain ones, but also my gum is quite dark and not pink. Is it possible to change the posts that are in the gum, or is it possible to lighten the gum in any way? Thank you for your help! Regards

Can veneers be fitted if one has gum disease?

Monday, November 2nd, 2009
Q.
I suffer from severe teeth grinding and i also have bad gum disease although i am only 34 and have never had a filling. i went away travelling and have not seen a dentist for over 5 years. i would like to know if i am treatable and what my options are for a smile makeover as my teeth are now yellowing, there is some movement and the gums are tender sometimes, I have started to become very self conscious and upset about it. Can veneers be fitted if someone has gum disease, what costs am i looking at or do you think i need false teeth?

Could you suggest any other method other than opalesense whitening and gum shields?

Monday, November 2nd, 2009
Q.
I have been using the Opalesence whitening and have been wearing the gum shields and using the gel for over a week now every other night. However my teeth are extremely sensitive at the minute and I am considering other methods. I dont notice much difference in my teeth either.

Can I have silver fillings to be replaced with composite materials in molar tooth?

Monday, November 2nd, 2009
Q.
I thought of going to have my silver fillings to be replaced with composite materials in one of my molar tooths. But some of the current silver fillings stick to my gums, how does the dentist going to remove it? Will it cause my gums to bleed during the drilling? I am concern that the harmful silver particles will get into my gums.

What is the treatment for my teeth with gum disease

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Q.
I am 59 years old. i have lost all of my back teeth due to gum disease. The last of the teeth were removed about two years ago. Since then, due to constantly chewing with my front teeth i am now having problems with them. I have tried a National health service denture but could not get used to it. What treatment would you recommend to replace my back teeth ? and to save my front teeth ?

I need the correct treatment for gummy smile

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009
Q.
Hi My problem is a gummy smile which has bothered me for some time now. I have recently just finished quite a lot of dental treatment including invisalign treatment, plus a new bridge, veneers and crowns, whilst my teeth look great I still feel I have a gummy smile, is there any additional treatment I could have to correct this? Many thanks

Can a temporary on a tooth cause pain in gum?

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009
Q.
I have a temporary on a tooth. It has been in for about 2 weeks. Just recently my gum in front of the temporary is really hurting and is bothering me above the tooth and in between the tooth. What should I do? I have flossed and no food is coming out? Could it be that I have cut the gum with my floss?

Need advise on a gum receding issue and its treatment

Monday, October 26th, 2009
Q.
2 questions. I am in my 50s a) my gum at the front is receding and makes one of my incisors look a lot longer – is there such a thing as a gum transplant? b) My dentist doesn’t want to replace my metal fillings with white – is this because it might crack my teeth?
