Monday, September 15th, 2008
Q.
I have really bad teeth! I have discolouration on most visable teeth, I also have gaps between each one. As you probebly already know it makes me extreamly self consious. I am looking into different cosmetic procedures but am unsure of prices and how long it takes. Could you please try and answer some of my questions. Thankyou, look forward to your reply.

Q.
My boyfriend swallowed a sharp 3 piece bridge when eating sushi. What can happen in this situation and what should he do? Wait for it to pass, try to throw up, or go to E.R?

Q.
Hi there I know this is probably going to sound weird. But is there any place in London that does the medical trails where you can take out your wisdom teeth for free? You see i am on working holiday here and can’t afford to pay. Can you maybe tell me roughly what it’s going to cost if I have no other choice. If you can be of assistance. THANKS!

I am extremely nervous and I do panic a lot

Friday, September 12th, 2008
Q.
I am a very bad patient for a dentist I am extremely nervous and I do panic a lot, and because of this past dentists, I have had, rather than try to save my teeth removed them. I do have fillings in some back teeth but a lot of gaps and it is a little difficult to eat properly. I have not been to a dentist for five years because I dread it so much, I know that at least three back teeth are in trouble and have had a little tooth ache that has calmed down now but I really want to sort out my teeth, and don’t know where to go. I do not want dentures I want to be able to eat properly and I want to be able to talk and smile with a nice confident smile. I don’t think there is anything wrong with my front teeth but they could be whiter, I would like to know if I could find someone to take me on is there any way Gaps in the back of the mouth can be fitted with permanent tooth fittings rather than dentures and would it depend on the teeth you have left to attach any fitment to? also how expensive could that be? Hope you can help.

I am so terrified of going to the dentist

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008
Q.
Hi I am so terrified of going to the dentist infact I can not remember when I last went to see one. All I know is every time I have gone I have had the injections which are awful and still feel the pain when they start the work the last time I went it was for a root canal work I asked the dentist to stop as I could still feel the pain and she got very annoyed and told me it was all in my head. I never went back to finish that proceedure and never seen a dentist since. However it is getting to that stage where I really should see one I have old fillings dropping out teeth that have broken at the gum line what do you suggest I do about the fear of dentists?

pain after having root canal re done

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008
Q.
After having pain in one of my upper front teeth, I was advised to have two root canals redone. I was still in pain after this treatment and was referred to a periodontist who after examining me proclaimed that I have a bone fracture above my front teeth and a large cyst. I have been advised to have the following treatment: removal of my 4 front teeth 7,8,9 & 10 bone grafting implants on teeth 7 & 10 bridges on teeth 8 & 9 Firstly what would cause a bone fracture? Does this treatment sound like a good option? I am a little wary especially after the initial misdiagnosis, the periodontist did ask why the root canals had been re done and then suggested that maybe the fracture had been missed on previous x-rays (4 were taken before treatment began, and 2 after), is this a likely scenario? The periodontist noticed the fracture on my full mouth x-rays and then confirmed it with 2 more. Apologies if I have muddled my questions somewhat, I am still in shock!

root canal on my front crowns

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008
Q.
My front four teeth are porcelain crowns. I have been told that two of the crowns are infected and root canal treatment is required. Most of the literature available on this treatment refers to side teeth and does not explain how this treatment is undertaken to front teeth which are already crowned.
