I fell and knocked my teeth out ive had infection and bone loss

Sunday, July 6th, 2008
Q.
When I was young I fell and knocked my 2 front teeth as a result I had an operation and the root of one of the teeth was removed. A few years later I has the tooth crowned and not long after I got an infection in the roof of my mouth. An x-ray showed that this infection was going right from the crown up into the palet of my mouth, the specialist told me I need ot have an operation to remove the infection but I have had bone removed during my first operation which I was not aware of and there is a 50/50 chance I could lose the tooth during or not longer after the operation. What would be my best option if I do lose the tooth? Would a dental implant be suitable? And whatever the necessary treatment can you give me an idea of the price I would be looking at?

My front veneer has shattered and now I need a crown

Friday, July 4th, 2008
Q.
THE VENEER ON MY FRONT INCISOR SHATTERED AND THE DENTIST ADVISES ME TO HAVE A CROWN AS THE TOOTH PREVIOUSLY HAD ROOT CANAL TREATMENT. I AM RELUCTANT TO HAVE SOME OF MY TOOTH REMOVED AND WOULD PREFER JUST TO HAVE THE VENEER REPLACED. HOW MUCH RISK AM I TAKING OF FURTHER DAMAGE TO THE TOOTH?

My teeth have greyed after trauma and root canal

Friday, July 4th, 2008
Q.
I recently had trauma to 2 of my front teeth (front left and next left), and had root canals. The teeth have greyed and im having internal bleaching on the teeth. I have been advised that I could avoid crowning for a number of years and have spoken to people whose front tooth has lasted 15 years, the NHS dentist said I should not rush it anyway as i need to see how the root canals progress and whether they are successful. Im very depressed at the moment as the trauma was caused when I was assaulted. I have had a great life to date and only recently married. This has left a huge dark cloud over our lives and time in our new house. I have no other problems with my teeth and only ever had one filing. Now I cant bite down on food and my tooth colour has not returned to a satisfactory colour. Im scard of crowns and implants and with a high flying job cannot be out of work for long- is the cerec crown the way to go? We dont have much money at the moment with moving and the wedding so need the best solution for reasonable cost- please advise

I want to replace my PFM crowns to eliminate the grey lines

Thursday, July 3rd, 2008
Q.
I need to get two old PFM front crowns replaced (they have metal posts) and two veneers to match. My own dentist said that I cannot have all porcelain crowns because of the posts and that he’ll have to do PFG crowns. I am desperately unhappy with my teeth and want to eliminate the gray lines on my crowns too. I’ve been told its a complex job to match 4 teeth – veneer-crown-veneer-crown. How can I find a cosmetic dentist who can do what I need. Can I still get porcelain crowns. I’m a low earner but what to invest in good work so I can finally not be embarrassed about my teeth (its causing severe depression and is ruining my life). I live in London but travel to Glasgow frequently. Would it be less expensive to get it down own of the capital? How much more expensive are porcelain crowns. My own dentist quoted £800 for the PFM. I don’t know where to turn. I need to resolve this in order to be able to live a normal life 🙁
