I feel some pain in my porcelain crowned molar tooth do you think the tooth is broken?

Friday, May 8th, 2009
Q.
It has been almost a month that I had a porcelain crown placed on one of my molars(lower left back). After a couple of days I felt discomfort coming from the tooth right next to the crown. The dentist went ahead and filed down the tooth and the upper tooth aswell to apparently alleviate the pressure. The discomfort subsided for a couple of days, but I still feel the same pain. The pain has a similar feeling to that of having a broken tooth. The reason for the crown on my molar. Do you think that the tooth may also be broken or is the pain just temporary? I can not afford another crown and knowing that I may have to go three weeks with a temporary has me worried compromising my self-confidence.

my upper left wisdom tooth has decayed what is the option implant or be crowned

Monday, May 4th, 2009
Q.
I’m 47 and have had a phobia of dentists since I was 12. At this time I had four upper teeth extracted for orthodontic work. Unfortunately this left me with gaps in my upper teeth, not quite big enough for crowns. For the last 25 years I have gone every six months to a dentist I trust and have had some cosmetic work (mainly white fillings) I have always wanted a perfect smile, but my teeth seem healthy for my age (although some are quite heavily filled) and the whole effect is reasonably OK, and so I’ve put up with the gaps. Recently my upper left wisdom tooth has decayed and might need to be removed. Could you advise me what would be the best option? Could the root of this wisdom tooth be crowned, or would an implant be possible? Although not wealthy, I would be able to afford to pay for the work needed. The other problem is that I think my dentist, although professional and pleasant, is unlikely to understand my wish for cosmetic work because of my age. Your advice would be very welcome.

under pressure from my tongue my two crowns move slightly are they coming off?

Sunday, May 3rd, 2009
Q.
I have two crowns next to each other (canine and next to front). Under pressure from my tongue they move very slightly. Are they coming off? My dentist told me that, because he used a carbon fibre post, he won’t be able to replace it when it goes.
