My dentist won’t replace my bridge until it had fallen out completely, so I now want implants. How much are they?

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010
Q.
Hi I currently have a bridge as i lost one of my front teeth some years ago. This bridge has now slipped downwards and needs to be replaced, my dentist will not replace it until it has fallen out, this has upset me because when i do smile you can see the gap above the bridge which shows my own teeth either side. So as he wont change this i am thinking of getting implants. What would a dentist do, would they just put one inplant in for the one missing tooth and put crowns on the supporting teeth (these are front teeth) i have about an inch overbite as well so can this also be changed. How much would this cost? Thanks,

I need bridges, but I can’t get my teeth whitened before they’re fitted. Will the porcelain react with the bleach?

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010
Q.
In around 5 weeks I will have porcelain bridges fitted after 18 months in braces, I have had these removed and now have retainers with plastic teeth in to maintain the gaps. My question is if I have my teeth bleached in the future will the porcelain bridges react and match with the bleach. If not what are my alternatives? I am in the forces and they would not bleach prior to matching for the bridges for cost reasons.,

Are there any alternatives to adhesive bridges?

Friday, July 16th, 2010
Q.
Hello, I am shortly to have both my first lower molars extracted. Both were root canaled. I am chemically very sensitive and couldn’t tolerate them and became seriously ill. All my other teeth are totally sound just one small filling on upper R7. My bite is very even throughout my mouth. As the teeth on either side of the extraction sites are not filled and are sound my dentist is understandably reluctant to carve them down to place a fixed bridge. Due to my health implants are just not an option. My dentist is suggesting two adhesive bridges. I am worried as I don’t think this type of bridge would be strong enough in that position of my mouth and wouldn’t be able to support the forces of biting and chewing. Also I am worried that the pre-molars would be damaged by the strain of trying to take the weight of the missing first lower molars. Are there any othe options?,
