I got my two front teeth bonded to close the gap between them

Thursday, December 4th, 2008
Q.
I got my two front teeth bonded to close the gap between them. The bonding does not feel natural and it feels like a piece of food is stuck between my teeth. Is this normal? Also, can the bonding be removed if I change my mind?

My daughter has been told that she has lost most of the enamel on her teeth

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008
Q.
My daughter has been told that she has lost most of the enamel on her teeth it has worn away and they need bonding to prevent them becoming sensitive, I a concerned that she is taking this at face value without rewsearching the long term effects etc. Is this a well known method of dealing with this problem? She says its the fizzy drinks she had as a child Could it be the cider she now drinks as she had fine teeth till she got to 18!

I had a plate when i was a teenager

Sunday, November 2nd, 2008
Q.
I had a plate when i was a teenager, and it wasn’t as effective as braces would have been. I am now considering lingual braces or invisalign to “complete the job”. Is one of these treatments more effective than the other?

what is the cost of composite on a chipped tooth

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008
Q.
How much should I expect to pay for a bit of composite on a chipped tooth? My dentist seems to charge whatever goes and he never seems to have a clear cut pricing policy, although he is extremely good at what he does, hence he can charge whatever he likes! I’d just like to know what normal dentists charge. Thanks

I have been going to the same dental pratice for 40 years

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008
Q.
I have been going to the same dental pratice for 40 years and found their approach and treatment on the NHS excellent. A few years ago the dentist in chage of the practice retired and now there is quite a turnover of dentists and cosmetic treatments of various kinds are being advertised. I was advised at my last check-up that as i had so few teeth there was “noise” where my jawbone commects with my skull and therefore I need a denture for my lower jaw to lessen impact. Another dentist whom I visited briefly fifteen years ago because his practice was much nearer made a denture for the lower jaw but though I persisted with it for months it was so uncomfortable that I gave up wearing it. I am not aware at present of any discomfort. What would you advise in my case about looking into implants?
