What is the best method for correcting spaces between my central incisors and canine teeth?

Wednesday, October 31st, 2012
Q.

Hello doctor, I wondered if you could help me? Firstly I don’t have my lateral incisor teeth (they never appeared) and secondly I have gaps between my central incisors and canine teeth (gaps evenly spread). I don’t want any gaps anymore I’m 39 and would like this resolved as quickly as possible as it is getting me down  – what would you say is the best method to get this resolved – veneers/bridge/crowns – and an approximate cost would be great. And how long the process would take for example would it be 4 weeks or 6 months? Thank you for your advice in advance, I just need a general idea.

Would me fang tooth that sticks out require tooth straightening or cosmetic dentistry?

Thursday, October 25th, 2012
Q.

Hi, I have a fang tooth on the upper left hand side of my jaw which sticks out and affects my smile. The rest of my teeth are nice and I would just like this tooth to be pushed down and put into alignment with the rest. However, I don’t think the gap is big enough for it to be pushed down which may be why it sticks out.

Would this require tooth straightening or cosmetic dentistry? Please can you advise the options open to me.Thank you.

How much should I expect to pay for veneers and will they blend with my existing teeth?

Monday, September 10th, 2012
Q.

Hello, I am interested in getting four veneers and wondered how I would get an exact price for them please? The least expensive veneers range quite a lot and I wonder why the vary so much? The four veneers are the two teeth either side of the two main from teeth. They are fang like and the two next to them are twisted. Will the veneers blend in with my other teetg as I don’t want to have all my teeth changed to veneers.

I would be looking to do it as soon as possible are the waiting lists long? Can it be done in a day as there would be travelling involved.

Thank you,
Regards.

What would be the most cost effective way to replace the bottom row of teeth?

Monday, September 10th, 2012
Q.

Hi,
I have five front teeth left on my bottom set with a gap in the middle were two teeth have been removed.
At the moment there is a bottom denture which makes up the rest of the missing teeth. this denture is lose due to gum shrinkage. The five remaining teeth are in poor condition and are very small. My teeth on the top set are complete but are all either crowns or bridges these are in good condition. the bottom five remaining teeth are small and don’t match the top set. what would be the best and most cost effective way to replace the bottom set so that it would match up with the upper teeth. Please give a rough estimate of costs involved or list possible treatments from high to low in cost

Which veneers are best suited for thinning teeth problems?

Monday, September 3rd, 2012
Q.

Hello,

I am considering getting veneers. My teeth are thinning very rapidly despite of the fact that I really do take a good care of them and watch that I don’t eat too much acidic foods.
I maintain a very good oral hygiene routine too. Although my bottom teeth look good the top 4-6 not so good. So I’m not sure how many veneers minimum I should have and more importantly which ones are the best for me? I read a lot of information about the various types available, which makes me more and more confused.

There are so many types to choose from and I don’t know which would be best for me. I would appreciate your advice.
Thank you.

Can metal bonded porcelain ever look natural and is this my only option due to the dark tooth stumps I have?

Friday, August 31st, 2012
Q.

All my top teeth have had crowns on from an early age, I recently had them replaced with all porcelain crowns but some of the tooth stumps i have are dark and unfortunately this darkness showed up through the crowns. I then had these removed and my dentist suggested metal porcelain bonded crowns instead, I have had these fitted but they don’t look right, the colour of them changes quite dramatically in different lights and they look dull, lifeless and ugly. They also seem bulkier than the previous crowns. There is a translucent area that has been incorporated into the crown which as I understood was supposed to make them more aesthetic but it doesn’t look very well blended with the crown and gives the appearance of a grey outline around the sides and bottom of the crown. I realise that metal bonded porcelain crowns are not as realistic as all porcelain crowns but mine look very false. Can metal bonded porcelain ever look natural and is this my only option due to the dark tooth stumps that I have?

Many thanks for any advice you can give me.

My veneers keep falling off, what permanent solutions are available for me?

Friday, August 31st, 2012
Q.

hello i have two composite veneers on my two front teeth as they broke in half a while back. i have been having a problem as every time they have fallen out iv asked to have something a bit more permanent and i have had this problem since i was 18 and it’s getting too much! i am now 24 and i am just wondering if there is some reason my army dentist wont give me something that will last longer? he told me to never use my front teeth or they would come out and not being able to eat with front teeth is quite difficult with certain foods. he can’t expect me not to use my front teeth can he? also they discolour very fast witch is not a good look at all. thank you for your time and i look forward to hearing back from you.

I had my tooth root filled 2 years ago and I am not happy with how it looks now, would a veneer be of any help?

Thursday, August 30th, 2012
Q.

Hello. I had an accident a couple of years ago that resulted in one of my front teeth having to be root filled. It is now 2 years on and i am still not happy with the colour and how it looks as it has now changed position too! Is it safe for me to have a veneer do you think? I know that i will need to have both of my front treated so that they match but I am concerned that because it has been root filled that it won’t be suitable for a veneer. this causes me real concern but i also am desperate for something to be done as it doesn’t look very nice  at all. I have tried all types of bleaching and had composite placed on but i am still not happy with the colour of the tooth.

The crown is too big for my tooth, how much should I expect to pay to have this replaced?

Thursday, August 30th, 2012
Q.

16 years ago I had a crown fitted to my the very back molar. I wasn’t happy when it was fitted…as it was obviously far too big for the tooth. At the time the locum dentist remarked that it was too big but she was going to go ahead with it anyhow. It looks even uglier along with my gum which appears to be receding more revealing an even uglier spectacle. I am wondering how much it would cost to be replaced?
