With 6 month smiles I am into 7th month of treatment and am unhappy

Thursday, March 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi I have had the 6 month smile braces fitted and I am currently at month 7 of treatment. I had the braces fitted as my upper right and left lateral teeth were slightly crossing over my front two teeh. By month 4, this was straightened out, but my front right tooth had began to come forward slightly. The dentist adjusted my brackets and said this should be solved within a month. It is now three months later and this problem is getting worse, my front right tooth is now visibly protruding and slightly crossing over my front left tooth. I think my upper lateral teeth have now been pushed too far back and this is causing the front right tooth to push forward – please help! im at the stage where i just want to ask the dentist to remove the brace and veneer my teeth instead.,

Is there any treatment available for teeth that are in bad condition?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi, My Teeth are in a pritty bad condition since I was a child, I do go to the dentist and had lots of fillings, fillings also in my front teeth at the top but they become discoloured and i get them replaced but it doesnt look good, I lost my smile a long time ago and as the years has passed by they seem to be getting worse dispite im trying to look after them the best i can all the time, i no longer smile showing my teeth anymore and have lost alot of confidence, i won’t even aply for jobs im intrested in because of my smile. I have mentioned whitening in the past to my dentist before i new anything about veneers but he explained that whitening would not work cause of all the fillings i have there, so now i have read all about veneers do you think it would be a option for me, my bottom front teeth are fine so would they just need whitening, my top two front teeth have slightly gone crocked (because of the drilling n fillings there i think) would i need additional treatment on them or would veneers help that. Big problem i have is that i will only go to my dentist as I no he’s seen all my teeth before, im so ashamed to go to a different dentist to get advise or treatment, u may not beable to answer any of my questions as you have not seen them but I felt it was worth a try in asking for your advice anyway, thanks for your time,

Any treatment available for obvious gaps in teeth?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi Dr Solanki I unfortunately suffer from a lot of overcrowding and as such both of my top incisor teeth stick out . I waited and waited for my dentist to take action when I was younger but he kept on putting off orthodontic work as my milk teeth took so long to fall out. We eventually moved to a different area where we couldn’t get a dentist. As a result I never got the braces I desperately wanted. I am now at a stage where I have summoned up the courage to get braces, a process which I know will be costly as I am now in my mid twenties. I still have a milk top right canine tooth and am wondering if this will have to be removed prior to braces being fitted? If so, will I have to wait until a new tooth grows in before braces can be fitted? The thought of wearing braces as an adult fills me with dread but the prospect of having a gap prior to braces is even worse. Is there any way this obvious gap could be covered up? Many thanks in advance for your help.,

Any advice on cosmetic dentists?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have a query, I have 3 gaps between my teeth (front, upper teeth). I wanted to get dental bonding/composite to fill in the gaps. The cosmetic dentist I am hoping to do the job is not listed on this site. I just wanted to know how I can best tell if someone has the skills to perform the procedure. Are there any dentists I should be worried about? I know its a bit odd of an odd question, but I would apreciate any help you could give. Thanks,

My two front teeth have moved forward, is this because of the new lingual brace?

Thursday, March 18th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I had an upper lingual brace fitted two weeks ago and had extractions before as my teeth are overcrowded. However, it seems as though one of my front two teeth has moved further forward! is this possible or am I just being paranoid? And how long does it generally take for the gap to close? Would really appreiciate a reply – many thanks,

What is the cheapest option to have front teeth pushed back?

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010
Q.
I have had a retainer for years to push my front teeth back at night. But now the retainer won’t stay in and doesn’t seem to work and I need a treatment to push my front teeth back but I’m worried about the cost – what’s the cheapest and hopefully permanent solution? Cheers!,

Should I get two implant or just have bridge done?

Wednesday, March 17th, 2010
Q.
I am a female, 21 years of age. I have a hereditary problem where I have missing permanent teeth under 6 of my deciduous teeth. Before my orthodontist put braces on me, he pulled out 6 of my deciduous teeth as through as X ray, he could tell that they were weak and the roots were not really firm/stable. 1 deciduous tooth was pulled out in the top right part of my mouth, and another 1 at the bottom right part of my mouth. Both of them are at the same location if you count from the mid line of my mouth. 2 other teeth were pulled out from the top left part of my mouth and another 2 right below it, on the lower jaw. My doctor told me that I have to get 2 implants put in on the upper and lower left side of the jaw (where 4 teeth were pulled out) as the gap cannot be closed by just braces. Well, technically it is possible but the midline would shift, causing my smile to be ugly. In conclusion, I want to know if it is worth investing so much money in the 2 implants. Should I just have a bridge done? My doctor says it will be a waste as the rest of my teeth are so perfect. What should I do? My braces will be off in July and I do not want to have the 2 gaps empty for long. Alternatively, would it be ok if I asked my doctor to close up the gap in the lower jaw and have an implant in the upper jaw? Would my teeth look weird? Please advice. Thanks a million.,
