Is it common for the gum to ache 6 months after teeth removal?

Q. Iam 55 years old and had my upper back 2 molars removed I am also missing the biscupid on this side.. Although the gum has healed it is constantly dry and sometimes aches. Is this common the teeth were removed over 6 months ago.,
A. it can take several months for the extraction site to heal. This is not uncommon, however I am unsure as to why the area feels dry? This could be down to other factors- such as mediaction that minimises saliva production. If you have any issues and if the concern is really high, then I would recommend that you see your general dental practicioner to resolve these.
