Hi i really want veneers im 16 and i dont knoe if im to young i have a gap between the front teeth but it is only small and my fangs are slightly higher i love big straight teeth. i dont smile on pictures and if i do i look at my teeth and its really noticable so i just wanted to ask 1st am i to young ? and if not how much would it be around how much is it per tooth ? thanks

iam trying to decide if i should go with lumineers veneers or implants

HELLO DR. I AM IN NEED OF SOME GOOD, SOLID ADVICE. I AM TRYING TO DECIDE IF I SHOULD GO WITH LUMINEERS, VENEERS, OR IMPLANTS. MY TEETH JUST NEED TO BE PRETTY EXCEPT FOR 2 WHICH NEED TO COME OUT. I WANT THE MOST NATURAL LOOK POSSIBLE AND DURABILITY AS WELL. CAN YOU PLEASE HELP? THE DENTISTS I TALK TO ONLY WANT TO SWAY ME TOWARDS THE MORE EXPENSIVE ROUTE SO I NEED ALL THE INFO AND ALL THE HONESTY YOU CAN GIVE ME ON THESE 3 CHOICES I HAVE LISTED. one of my veneers has come off and one is chipped

Dear Dr. Glaister, I had veneers 4 years ago. One fell off in August 2008. Last night whilst talking on the phone one of them chipped leaving approximately half of the veneer remaining. This morning whilst brushing my teeth, a veneer on a different tooth also chipped. My Dentist (who’s a friend) is happy to carry out the remedial works today at a discounted rate but I’m very concerned that it may be something he’s not doing properly. I’ve not bumped my mouth nor eaten anything particularly veneer-breaking. Before I call him I wanted to seek advice so I do look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience. I really do hope you can help, I won’t smile until you do :0) Many thanks

I have had TMJ for many years

I have had TMJ for many years, and the last three years I have suffered with a displaced disc which meant I had chronic facial pain and the disc used to become inflamed quite regularly. My dentist recently gave me a splint to wear 24/7 for about 8 weeks which helped with the facial pain but did nothing for the disc. I then started to experience terrible headaches with the splint so the last time I saw my detist he said he could do no more for me and sent me to a specialist in London. This specialist would like to perform open surgery to re-attach the disc and then adjust my bite. Another specialist has said I could have an arthroscopy. Is it possible you could tell me which would be best please? I was hoping the disc might go back without surgery but it looks like it might not be the case. Many thanks

I need an implant or possibly more. I have run out of tooth Upper right 6 and lower right 6 and 7. All very heavily filled! Im in Plymouth and need someone who specialises in dental implants. The list of dentists on this site provides doesnt list the top dental implants specialists in Plymouth. A few names on the list are not dentists thats I would trust to do dental implants. Please help if you can.
