I can see a considerable gap and my teeth are out of line what treatment do you recommend

Friday, July 24th, 2009
Q.
Hi, I am now 22 and I still have a milk tooth. I believe it is a molar and it sits between my adult canines and molars. It is slightly offset from the line of my mother teeth and when I smile it just looks like a (considerable) gap. Due to this tooth my other teeth are slightly out of line, this is noticeable from my front teeth which have been pushed slightly to one side. On top of this I have an overbite/overjet (I’m not sure of the difference!), although my front teeth do not stick forwards at an angle as far as I can tell. I have also been told that my chin looks slightly further back than it should do from my profile. I have never had any form of orthodontic work done before so I don’t really have any idea what the necessary procedure would be to correct my teeth and how much it would cost. At 22 I would obviously like the treatment to be as quick and visually unobtrusive as possible, but I have no idea whether this is feasible. If you could give me an idea of the possible treatments, with timescales, that could be suitable and approximate costs that would be great. Thanks

I have a minor decay in the tooth how much would dental bonding cost per tooth?

Friday, July 24th, 2009
Q.
Hi I am thinking about having some dental bonding treatment carried out on 1 or 2 of my front upper teeth I have been very lucky until now I have never had any major teeth problems since i was 7 years old I have one upper front tooth thats starting to go a bit decayed near the gum line area and has cracked a bit as a result Would dental bonding fix this? I was considering having a crown but the tooth is pretty healthy besides a small bit of decay near the gum line How much would dental bonding cost per tooth? And is there any major side effects? I am aware that the NHS don`t provide any cosmetic treatment Could an NHS dentist do the bonding if i pay private Man

I was told i cant have my teeth whitened due to long course of antibiotics Is there any other way

Friday, July 24th, 2009
Q.
I am considering having my teeth whitened, but was told a few years back that this would not work for me. As a child I was on a long course of antibiotics for a tonsil infection which was they were subsequently removed. I was long use of antibiotics can cause the teeth to yellow and teeth whitening unfortunately would not help this. They are not terribly yellow and I am not a smoker or heavy coffee or tea drinker, so wanted to know is this true, am I unlikely to see any result at all? thank you!

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009
Q.
Hi About 17 years ago I had veneers fitted to my front 4 teeth. This was done on the NHS to cover damage caused by the extreme cold whilst I was serving with the Royal Navy in Icelandic waters. One of the veneers has broken and needs replacing. Will the NHS cover this ?? I am now with a different dentist and have no proof that the NHS covered this work.

My upper canine teeth are irregularly large as well as out in place would veneers correct it?

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009
Q.
I am considering cosmetic dentistry to correct some of the problems I see in the mirror. The main problem, and question, is about my upper canine teeth. They both seem irregularly large as well as out of place. The gum line is especially high with these teeth, and they are both a bit crooked. I don’t particularly want to undergo two years of braces like my siblings have. Would veneers correct a problem like this?
