I am going to have a metal biting surface on my bottom molar, will this be affected by my teeth grinding during the night?

I was at the dentist today, I had a tooth that was severely affected by internal resorbtion (sp?)… and the tooth was completely hollow on the inside so I had to have it extracted. My dentist told me before he got my temporary bridge back from the lab or whoever and said that my back molars( I had number 14 extracted) are too short for them to put porcelain on the botton of the tooth so the bottom will be metal. I have never heard of this and I was wondering is this common and i was quite qorried cause i sometimes wake up and felt sore from teeth grinding at night…

I don’t have any enamel on my teeth, what can I do to look after them to prevent losing them?

Hi there. I was born without any enamel on my teeth and have had years of pain and constant visits to the dentist to have work done. My dentist has never really advised me on what I can do to help keep the decay at bay, although I do follow the hygienist’s advice on brushing and flossing. Can you offer an opinion? The state of my teeth is really affecting my confidence and I am developing a fear of the dentist. My Father lost all his teeth at 17 due to this and I am terrified of the same happening to me (I am now 29). Many thanks!

Part of my tooth came out when I had a cap removed, I now have three options, which do I pick?

I had one of the upper-jaw tooths root canal’ed.Post treatment, I used to’ve food lodgment problem surrounding the cavities adjoining the gums of treated tooth i.e: small slices of food teer into the gums and cavities. When I went to see a Dr, she removed the cap along with which the tooth part came out.

Dr. has suggested me 3 options :
1) Have an implant of metal by removing the root.
2) Have a bridge by cutting the left-adjacent natural tooth and removing the cap of right-adjacent root-canal’ed tooth.

Which one would be better option to prevent food lodgment? 1 or 2?

Would you suggest 3) a replacement of cap?

Where can I purchase Colgate Duraphate toothpaste cheaply?

Hi,

I used to get this toothpaste from my dentist – Colgate duraphate 2800 – but they carged £12 a tube. Which is really expensive. Would a private dentist write an prescription for this so I could buy it online. I’ve seen it advertised in multi buy packs for much cheaper, although I need dentist approval or a prescription.

I have been whitening my teeth and my teeth are not the same colour, am i doing it wrong?

I have toothache that comes and goes, do I need a root canal?

I HAVE HAD AN ACHE IN 1 OR 2 TEETH SINCE AUGUST. IT GETS BETTER FOR A WHILE & THEN RETURNS. TEETH FEEL BRUISED. A FEW YEARS AGO I SAW THE DENTIST WITH THIS PROBLEM AND HE SAID IT WAS GUM RECESSION. i HAVE BEEN USING AN ULTRASONIC TOOTHBRUSH SINCE AND THIS CURED IT. BUT RECENTLY THE SYMPTOMS HAVE RETURNED. hi i had my braces put from aborad abt 3 months ago frm pakistain now my braces are very loose n having problems cleaning it i went to my local dentist in redditch weorctershire thy referd me to pincale orthodontics they said to have treatmment i would need to put new braces from them witch i cant afford thats the first reason i had thm done from aborad im very stressed n worried abt my teeth wat can i do pls help can i or should i apporch other dentists.

Could you offer a surgical alternative to braces?

I would like to know if there are any quick alternatives to braces to realign protrusions and gaps in teeth. I am a 40 year old woman with protruding upper front teeth and gaps. I underwent braces treatment many years ago in India but wasnt happy with the treatment. Once my braces came off, the gaps and protrusions returned. My friends say my smile is my best feature but I am always conscious of my teeth. I have consulted for Invisalign but the idea of wearing more braces for a few more years is unacceptable to me. I was wondering if there were any surgical alternatives.
