Can you please advise me on guided bone & tissue regeneration techniques?
Q. I have had an infection in a bottom molar. There has been some gum and bone loss around one of the roots but I am keen to preserve the tooth. Please would you explain how guided tissue regeneration or guided bone regeneration may be able to help. The tooth iseems free of infection now and I can chew perfectly well. However there is significant sensitivity to cold water and food. Please what can you advise? Regards

A. Guided bone regeneration techniques are very hit and miss for teeth with bone loss caused by infection. You should seek advice from a Periodontist (gum expert) who is experienced in these treatments.
