Can you have two teeth together replaced by a dental bridge?

Q.
Hello Dr Hughes. I have a question for you: I have a lower plate with two back teeth on one side and one tooth on the other. Ideally I would like to replace this with dental bridges as the denture is not comfortable. My dentist has told me that it isn’t possible to have two teeth together replaced by a dental bridge. Can you tell me whether or not this is the case?
A.
Thank you for your enquiry.

It is occasionally possible to have two teeth replaced by one bridge; however this isn’t always the case. I would imagine if your dentist has said it’s not possible, and then it is more than likely not going to be successful.

Have you thought about having the teeth replaced by implants? Whilst this is the most expensive option, it is also the best, long term and most comfortable option. If implants are not for you, and a bridge is not suitable, then ensure your plate is a metal plate as this is the most comfortable and long wearing.
